Hello!

I am an Assistant Professor in the Sociology Department at Middlebury College.

Broadly, I research how people create, spread, and regulate information. My work speaks to the inter-disciplinary domains of digital governance and organization, information environments, and social activism. I’m a computational social scientist with a particular love for network analysis, text analysis, and digital trace data. Current projects include looking at women’s participation in open source projects, book bans in US schools, and the role of social class in shaping online behavior, particularly around the use of generative AI. My work has been published in the Journal of Communication and PNAS Nexus, among others.

Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Le Centre de Recherche sur les Inégalités Sociales (The Center for Research on Social Inequalities) at Sciences Po in Paris, France, where I worked with Dr. Jen Schradie. I received my PhD from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to grad school I spent a few years working at the education non-profit Girls Who Code in New York City. I received my BA from the University of Chicago.
